Hilaturas Arnau is one of the few companies in the world currently manufacturing recycled critical technical textiles from recycled high-performance fibers — PBO, PBI, para-aramid, meta-aramid and PREOX — with applications in defence, aerospace, PPE, and heavy industry. We are the only company in Europe producing with PBO in its recycled form.

Hilaturas Arnau is capable of blending a wide range of FR fibers to achieve different performance profiles tailored to the needs of each client. Our fiber LOI reference values:

  • PBO, LOI 68 — the highest in the world. Continuous temperatures above 500 °C and maximum temperatures up to 600 °C without melting or burning.
  • PREOX, LOI 50 — exceptional carbonised flame barrier, key component in high-performance blends.
  • PBI, LOI 43 — thermal barrier against extreme heat, flames and electric arcs.
  • Para-aramid / meta-aramid, LOI 30/35 — lightweight, flame resistant, cut resistant, high tensile strength.

PBO Textiles

Recycled polybenzoxazole yarn, fabric and nonwoven. The highest-performing technical fiber available — extreme thermal stability to 600 °C, tensile strength 10× that of steel. Available in yarn, nonwoven and woven fabric form.

PBI Textiles

Recycled polybenzimidazole fabric — thermomechanical balance combining thermal barrier (PBI) with mechanical resistance (para-aramid). Certified to EN ISO 6942:2022 Code C4. Ideal for electric arc, flash fire and proximity firefighting applications.
